So this morning when I did my online check-in for my flight from Atlanta back to Panama City I had a new option... I could either print my bording pass or have my bording pass texted to me. For several years we have been printing the passes at home, but this is the first time I recall haing the option of having it texted to me. For fear that this was a trick by Delta to hose me out of my return flight... I did both... printed it at home and also having it texted to me. The text contained a link that opened a browser on my iPhone (see below)...
When I went to get on the plane instead of inserting a piece of paper under the scanner... I put the camera with the below image on it... sure enough... It worked!!! I got on the flight! No scam! :-) So the next time you fly you can feel free to select the option to have it texted to you! Your intrepid I-Reporter has proven that this is not a scam!
Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool and a sign of the times. I guess this puts even more value on your cell phone. My wife calls mine my brain because I would not know who I was or where I was supposed to be without it.... now we can add not getting onto the airplane without it!
Also on my flight into Panama City we flew over the new airport (ECP) on our approach to PFN. It looks like things are coming along pretty well. I looked at the tributaries where there has been some run-off issues... and the water looked pretty clean.... at least today. We will have to see if that is the case after the 1-2" of rain we will get tonight.
The forecast is looking pretty chilly over the next few days, but temps will reacht he 60s to near 70 by the end of the weekend. Also, after tonight... it should be dry through the weekend.
