Coming up Tuesday night/Wednesday morning you will be able to see one of the better meteor showers... the Quadrantids.  As many as 60-200 will be visible in an hour.

The problem this year is the moonset is not until 2:30am so ideal conditions (2-5am) won't be until late when temperatures are expected to be well below freezing.  But, if you bundle up and look NE in the sky you hopefully will get a good show.

According to the website Sky and Telescope

'Like the Geminid meteors of mid-December, the Quadrantids originate from an asteroid, not a comet. The asteroid is known as 2003 EH1. Dynamical studies suggest that it may be a dead chunk of a comet that broke apart several centuries ago, and that the meteors are small bits of debris from this fragmentation.'

As I said, happy viewing and stay warm!
