It happened a little before 4:00 Tuesday afternoon at Bayside Mobile Home Park off Big Daddy Drive. Officials say smoke could be seen from 23rd Street.
By the time firefighters arrived flames covered the home and had begun to spread to the mobile homes next door. The fire crews quickly got them under control.
A witness says the man who lives there heard a loud noise, then reacted.
"Something popped on the outside of the back of the deck and he jumped up and looked out and his drapes were on fire. He got his dog and ran out and started spraying it down," Allen Brantley said.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
