With the condition of the economy and people struggling to feed their own families, dogs have been put on the back burner.
But in order to combat this country-wide dilemma and promote responsible ownership, the Greater Panama City Dog Fanciers' Association hosted Responsible Dog Owners Day Sunday.
People and their pooches of all shapes, sizes and breeds came together in St. Andrew's Oaks by the Park.
Admission was free for owners and their pups; however, Bay County Animal Control's micro-chipping services did cost $6.
Besides the heat, every one and every dog seemed to enjoy themselves.
