Down Syndrome is a genetic condition that happens in one out of every 733 births. It affects people of all ages, races and economic levels.

A local parent group is jumping in with both feet, so to speak, to help not only people with Down’s, but their families as well. The tight-knit support group called action up for Down’s, sponsored the Third Annual Buddy Walk on Saturday.

It brought together people with the condition and their invited buddies, which was just about anyone from family to friends and even teachers.

There was also live entertainment, food and a lot of fun activities for the whole family. The event, which was held at Panama City Beach's Frank Brown Park, was a way to raise money for education research and advocacy programs.
