The holiday season is upon us, but so is that unavoidable flu season.

If you haven't caught the flu yet the Bay County Health Department is hoping to help you avoid it altogether. They're offering affordable flu shots with convenient walk-in hours.

Children six months to 18 years are free and everyone else is charged a twenty six dollar fee, but health department officials say the $26 could end up saving you bundles of money and in some cases your life.

Dr. Jason Newsom with the Bay Co Health Department said, "The most important reason people should get their flu shot is somewhere between 30 and 40,000 people will die from complications of the influenza."

The shots are given on a first come, first serve basis or until supplies run out.
