Food Safety and Quality Program

The University of Florida/Bay County Extension is offering a Food Safety and Quality Program, which is dedicated to providing training that enables food managers and staff to offer Florida consumers food that is prepared in a clean and safe environment.

The comprehensive training will provide up-to-date information along with current food service regulations.

Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the University of Florida Food Safety and Quality Program.

Once they pass the ServSafe Manager’s Exam, they will receive a National Certification valid for five years. Certification is required in Florida for food managers of all establishments licensed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and selected licensees of the Department of Health.

June 17, 2009
July 22, 2009
August 26, 2009
September 30, 2009
October 28, 2009
December 2, 2009

All classes are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be held at the University of Florida/Bay County Extension Office, which is located at 2728 E. 14th Street. Free Online Training Module Helps Families Dealing with Alzheimer's

Updated: 07/05/2012 - Panama City - Alzheimers. By age 85, 30% to 50% of adults show signs of the disease. For family caregivers, dealing with Alzheimer's effects on their loved one can be heartbreaking and stressful. That's why a local in-home senior care provider is spreading the word about a new, and free resource for families. The online training module is called "CARE: Changing Aging Through Research and Education." It helps families better understand the disease and how to cope with it, as well as offer tips on how to care for the 60% to 70% of Alzheimer's patients still living at home.
