The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast along with a host of volunteers are organizing the “Back to School Bash”.

The free community event will be held at Harbeson Field in DeFuniak Springs on Saturday, August 15th. It's designed to provide a full day of fun and entertainment for area youth and their families, as they prepare for the start of another school year.

The event plans include arts and crafts booths, concessions, live musical entertainment, athletic events and more. Featured musical guest include “The Springs”, from Enterprise Alabama. The Springs won 2008 ICM "Youth Artist of The Year" in Nashville this past October. They have had two #1 hits off their debut CD thus far, and as a "teen" Country band they play a "family friendly", different kind of Country Music. Because of this, they are a great crossover band from Country/Southern Rock to Christian/Country Gospel.

Walton County citizens and especially youth of all ages are encouraged to make plans to come out to enjoy this free community event on August 15th. Attendees will be encouraged to bring new school supplies for collection and distribution to area children.

Local businesses are being recruited to sponsor the event.

Sponsorship levels include:
