Girl Scout Council Seeking Nominations for Community Leaders

The Girl Scout Council is seeking nominations to recognize women in our communities who have distinguished themselves through service and leadership.

A program inspired by Girl Scouts nationally, the Women of Distinction Awards Gala honors women from across the Panhandle who have a strong commitment to their community.

“The Awards Gala is truly an event to celebrate the women in our communities whose leadership and commitment enrich the lives of many,” said Raslean M. Allen, CEO of the GSCFP. “We invite you to nominate distinguished women from our communities.”

Nominees must live or work within the geographic boundaries of Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle; which includes: Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington counties.

Nominees should exemplify extraordinary civic; professional and/or philanthropic commitment and achievement; and be a role model for girls, demonstrating a commitment to improving the lives of women and/or girls. Women nominated must demonstrate initiative, integrity and leadership characteristics. Nominees are not required to have been or currently be a Girl Scout.

Award categories include:
-Arts, Culture, Humanities
-ealth, Fitness, Wellness
- Business, Finance, Insurance
-Law, Government, Elected Officials
-Education, Faith, Youth, Social Services
-PR, Advertising, Media, Technology
-Environment, Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate, Construction
