Construction to Cause Lane Closure in Calhoun County
Bridge Painting Prompts Lane Restriction on Apalachicola Bridge in Calhoun County.

Chipley –Weather permitting, beginning Thursday, January 21, and continuing for the next three months, the westbound lanes of SR 20 across the old Apalachicola River Bridge between Blountstown and Bristol will be reduce to one travel lane during the daylight hours. South Gulf, Inc. of Bonifay, FL. has been awarded a $145,000 contract to clean and paint a portion of the steel structure.
Truckers with wide loads are advised to seek and alternate route since the travel lane will only be 12 feet wide. South Gulf is required to remove the closure if no work is being preformed. Variable message boards warning motorist of the work and lane restriction will be set on SR 20 in Bristol and SR 12.
Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling through the work zone.
