Some local high school graduates took a walk down memory lane Thursday morning.
Members of the Rosenwald Alumni Association held a Reunion parade down 11th Street and fish fry to kick their high school reunion held every couple of years.
Back during the days of segregation, Rosenwald was the only black high school in Panama City from 1937 to 1967. All of the school’s graduates from that time have been invited to attend.
Rosenwald is now a middle school, but for many of this weekend’s alumni, it will always be Rosenwald High.
Myron Hines is one of the event’s organizers and says, “It's just good to see classmates we haven't seen in years all coming back. It’s great seeing people we know and even people we heard of and didn't know, but it is just a glorious time that we come together."
The Rosenwald Alumni Association holds their reunion every two years. The event runs through this coming Sunday night.
