Steve Meadows officially takes over for Jim Appleman as the State Attorney for the 14th judicial circuit Tuesday morning.
Meadows says he hasn't really stopped to think about the huge responsibility of the job because it's kept him so busy since the election.
He’s already got rid of the automated phone service, saying he wants people to know they are getting through to a live person who will help when they call.
Meadows says another key change will be a better relationship with local law enforcement, he says this will ensure career criminals aren't lost in the system.
Meadows will be sworn in Tuesday morning at 9 am at the Juvenile Justice Courthouse in Panama City.
