T-Shirt Ban Causes Stir at Northwest Florida School

Baker School lifts ban on `Kiss My Class Good-bye' T-shirts

The only public school in the North Okaloosa County community of Baker has lifted a ban against senior class T-shirts.

Two students were suspended and others received Saturday detention or were sent home for wearing the shirts.

The clothing was printed with the slogans ``Kiss Our Class Good-bye'' or ``Holy Ship, we're graduating''.

Principal Tom Shipp says he's allowing the shirts after yesterday's meeting with honors students.

Ship says he still considers the shirts inappropriate but not worth disrupting the seniors' last two weeks of school.

The principal plans to review the suspensions but says it's unlikely he would remove punishments from students' school records.
