Some local high-achieving students went on a shopping spree Tuesday morning for their holiday gifts!
Well not exactly, but the annual 'Christmas Store' is here!
'Christmas Store' is a fundraising program for deserving Bay County middle and high school students.
Students who earned 'holiday bucks' were able to shop for their friends and families.
The Bay Education Foundation staff and board members shop through out the year to stock the Christmas Store in addition to private contributions.
This year the store has about 900 items ranging from $1.50 to $100.
Dir., Bay Education Foundation, Beth Deluzian told NewsChannel 7, "We have over eighty-eight kids in middle and high school and another thirty-nine in college and we're very proud of our program and the impact it makes and the difference it makes in the lives of children. Our kids promise to remain drug free, crime free and failure free. We've had wonderful success and we're just as proud of all these kids as we can be."
Items not purchased by the kids are sold for real cash to employees and the remaining items will be stored until next year.
