Teacher Suspended Without Pay After Being Jailed

A Bay County teacher has been suspended without pay, after failing to show up for work this semester. Deane Bozeman teacher, Thomas Walker, has been unable to report to class since January 5th because he's been in jail.

District officials say he was arrested for failing to pay child support.

Superintendent Bill Husfelt had suspended Walker with pay until Wednesday. Thursday afternoon he made a formal recommendation to the school board to suspend Walker without pay. The board unanimously approved.

Walker was an exceptional student education teacher and taught elementary physical education at Bozeman.
