We know public schools are making budget cuts but what about private schools?

News Channel Seven’s Elizabeth Prann tells us, St. John Catholic School is feeling the pinch too.

Regardless of whether it's public or private - schools everywhere are feeling the pressure.

Which is why St. John Catholic School recently announced they are forming a partnership with the St. Dominic Catholic Church to get more financial support.

St. John Catholic School principal, Dr. Kathy Kidd said the school which already has more than 160 students is experiencing a slight decline in enrollment.

She said many families are just trying to pay their mortgages and some are suffering from recent job losses. But concerned parents say they're confident in the school's future.

Jennifer Elmore currently has two students enrolled in St. John Catholic School.

“This partnership lets me know as a parent that this school is going to be around for at least another 50 years. Because we have the support from catholic churches from Pensacola to Tallahassee you know, looking at St. John and making sure we have the support that we need."

And remember it's the time of year to begin looking at schools in our area.

School choices are just around the corner so don't hesitate to research the schools in your zone.
