Merritt Brown Middle School Students Serve it Up

While some students may be taking the day off this Saturday to go to the beach or Mardi Gras parade others took the time to serve.

Earlier today Merritt Brown Middle School students hosted their 6th Annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at the Applebee’s on 23rd St.
Students served customers- 2 pancakes, sausage, breakfast potatoes and choice of drink.Superintendent Bill Husfelt also showed up to enjoy the hearty breakfast.

The proceeds from Saturday's event will go towards the purchasing of new computers and cameras for the school's journalism team.

In past years, this fundraiser has been so successful that school administrators were able to buy six new computers and other needed equipment for the journalism program.
