Award Winning Author Reads to Local Students

An award-winning author made a special trip to Panama City on Monday to read to local students. Angela Hunt has written more than 100 children and adult books. Monday morning she shared one of her works with the first and second graders at Oscar Patterson Elementary.

Hunt has received several awards for her writing and one of her novels was made into a Christmas movie on the Hallmark Channel. She says it's a career field that always offers something new and exciting.

"I've been a writer for 20 years and I've written over 100 books and it never really gets easier, it just becomes more and more challenging," said Angela Hunt, Author.

Hunt will be speaking to local women Tuesday at the Bay Point Marriott and then Tuesday night at the new Bay County Library.

The Women’s Club of Panama City is on a mission to collect 1600 books for the free summer book fair, and Hunt donated the first box of books for the program. If you’d like to donate you can contact Marilyn Fenimore at (850) 233-9490 or drop off the books at the principal’s office at Patterson Elementary.
