Bay County School Board members were up bright and early Wednesday morning for a planning meeting over breakfast. This is one of few times members are able to get together and discuss issues outside of the regularly scheduled board meetings, because of Florida Sunshine Laws.
During the workshop board members and district officials discussed a variety of topics including the budgetary process, school choice and district cell phone usage.
"We've been moving so fast since November. If you stop and think about the things we've had to do because of the budget cuts and the like we've accomplished so much and so being able to sit down and talk about other things that haven't been dealing with the budget has been very beneficial," said Bill Husfelt, Bay Co. School Superintendent.
Board Members Donna Allen and Pat Sabiston were unable to attend the breakfast meeting.
