Merritt Brown Middle School Gets Out Early For Holidays Due to Renovations

Panama City, FL – Merritt Brown Middle School students will take leave early for Chirstmas Break. The school will be relocated temporarily to Deer Point Elementary School in order to accommodate an extensive renovation project.

The last full day of school for Merritt Brown students is Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Faculty and staff will be moving and setting up at Deer Point during the rest of that week in preparation to begin classes on January 4, 2010 at the new site. Students will not be allowed in the school during the moving process.

Buses will resume their normal schedules on January 4, 2010 and will transport the students to Deer Point Elementary School. For students who usually walk to school or live within 1½ miles of Merritt Brown, bus #642 will pick up students in the Merritt Brown bus loading zone at 8:10 a.m. Buses will transport those students back to Merritt Brown at the end of the school day. For students who usually ride the bus, transportation times and bus stops will remain the same.

Students will receive schedules with new room numbers on the first day back to school after the Christmas Break, which is January 4, 2010. An Open House is planned for Merritt Brown parents in January.
