Local Summer Drama Camps Gaining Popularity

Two dozen elementary and middle school students are busy putting the finishing touches on their presentation of "The Little Mermaid Jr."

"Klothes for Kids" Begins On-Site Registration

Updated: 07/10/2012 - Panama City - School doesn't start for another several weeks, but a Panama City Rescue Mission program that helps students in need get ready for the new year is already busy getting families signed up. New this year, "Klothes for Kids" is doing on-site registration at places like Girls Inc. and the Boys and Girls Club. That makes it even easier for families to get the help they need.

Many Athletic Injuries in Children are Preventable

Updated: 06/29/2012 - Panama City - An estimated 30 million young Americans are participating in organized sports. While that's great news in the fight against childhood obesity, it also means more athletic injuries. The US Centers for Disease Control say more than 3.5 million kids under 14 were treated for a sports injury last year. So what can you do to help protect your child from an athletic injury? Turns out, quite a bit. According to the CDC, more than half of all children's athletic injuries are preventable.

FSU Trustees Approve 4 Year Academic Plan for Panama City Campus

Updated: 06/09/2012 - Florida State University’s Board of Trustees approved a proposal on Friday, allowing its Panama City campus to offer a limited range of general education and lower-level courses focused on upper-level majors, which will allow freshmen admission beginning fall 2013.

FAMU Board Votes No Confidence

Posted: 06/07/2012 - Florida A & M Universities Board of Trustee’s, by an eight to four vote, said they have no confidence in the School’s President. The vote is a message to the President that he could be fired soon if problems aren’t solved quickly.

Local Female Pilots to Fly in Air Race Classic to Raise Money for New Aviation Exhibit

Updated: 05/28/2012 - Panama City - Three local female pilots are making final preparations for what could be one of the greatest adventures of their lives. They are participating in a cross country air race that Amelia Earhart made famous decades ago. But it's not just a sense of accomplishment they're after, the trio is trying to encourage other women, young and old, to pursue the pilot's seat.
