Harper Lee Museum in the works for Monroeville

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - New attractions are being planned to lure more tourists to the Alabama hometown of author Harper Lee.

Nearly a year after her death, a state tourism official says organizers are working on a Lee museum in the quiet town of Monroeville. Other attractions could be added later.

Lee used Monroeville as a model for fictional Maycomb, Alabama, both in "To Kill a Mockingbird" and its companion book "Go Set a Watchman."

Lee died in February 2016.
