ACURE hosting local MLK events

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - January 15th, we will honor the late Martin Luther King, Jr. so one local organization is hosting some events this weekend to remember him.

ACURE is hosting a MLK March on January 13th at the Bay County Courthouse. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. and the march starts at noon.

The Civic and Church youth groups with the most participants in the march will get a $100 gift from ACURE. There will be a short rally after the march. For commemorative shirts, call Charlotte Marshall at 271-

Then on January 15th, the Annual MLK Festival will take place at McKenzie Park in downtown Panama City. There will be entertainment, food, arts and crafts and something for the kids.

Throughout the day the crowd will be entertained by a variety of individuals and groups, including Gospel, Rap, dance,
and R & B. A short program with elected officials will begin at noon. The festival will begin at 10 a.m. and will last until 4 p.m.
