Anonymous donor pays vet bills for dog hit on A&E's LivePD

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - One lucky puppy is now recovering thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor.

Saturday night, the Walton County Sheriff's Office was notified a dog had been run over by a vehicle in Santa Rosa Beach.

When animal control arrived, they saw the dog suffered injuries to its leg, which ended up being a broken pelvis.

The responding officer was featured on A&E's LivePD, shining a national light on the incident.

Officials say after watching the episode, someone made an anonymous donation, paying for all of the dog's vet bills.

"It is really amazing because as a shelter since we are responsible for all animals that are brought to us, may not have been able to get the care that it needed because of the cost of the services. So when people actually donate, it helps other animals get more care," said Barker.

Barker said the dog, they named Dora, is on the road to recovery.

Once Dora is healed, the next step is to find her owner and reunite them.
