Ex-Major Leaguer arrested for shoving an umpire in Panama City Beach

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla (WJHG/WECP) - According to Panama City Beach Police, a baseball coach was arrested for shoving an umpire during a game Sunday afternoon.

Officials said the police department responded to a call at Frank Brown Park about 2:30 p.m.

Investigators determined the coach, Johnny Estrada, shoved the umpire over a disagreement about the umpires call during the game.

Estrada was arrested for Battery.

Beach police confirm that Estrada is a former Major League Baseball player.

Estrada played as a catcher for several teams from 2001 to 2008, including the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves.
