Bay County students getting a confidence boost

BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WJHG/WECP) - Students in Bay County are getting a bit of a confidence boost this week.

The Bay County Health Department's Freedom 180 program brought in Julie Carrier, an award-winning national speaker, author, and positive role model with hopes of spreading her encouraging messages to students at University Academy and Kaleidoscope School of Discovery on Thursday.

School administrators said this is something that a lot of students need.

"A lot of them have a lot of issues going on at home, they're struggling to try to understand this crazy world, what's going on today, and I think it's gonna help build their confidence and self-esteem," said Kaleidoscope School of Discovery's High School Administrator, Ann Amicarelle.

Friday, Carrier will be visiting Everitt Middle School and Merritt Brown Middle School.
