PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Beautifying the area is a longstanding mission in Bay County.
Friday many city and county leaders, including council members, mayors and city managers, came together to recognize Operation Clean Up, Paint Up, Fix Up.
"We want this to be one of the cleanest cities in Florida. This is so important to us that everybody in their city gets involved in helping make the cities a more beautiful place to live," Panama City Garden Club President Patricia Fenaes said.
For the past 53 years, the Panama City Garden Club has hosted a luncheon each March to kickoff program.
City representatives presented a board that displayed restoration project throughout the communities.
"It's an outstanding, it's a unique, it's an awesome place to live because we do this annually," Fenaes said, "but we expect to see what accomplishments to each city and what they have done to make a better place to live for all of us."
