Callaway man arrested after allegedly hitting girlfriend with gun

CALLAWAY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Callaway man is facing charges after he allegedly hit his girlfriend with a gun.

According to the arrest reports, Simon "Bama" Truitt, 37, is facing multiple charges including aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and kidnapping/false imprisonment of an adult.

According to arrest reports, Truitt accused the victim, his girlfriend of two weeks, of cheating on him. Truitt allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair, pulled her across the room, and pointed a loaded gun at her head.

The victim told investigators Truitt hit her with the gun and forced her into a bedroom for more than a day. Arrest reports say the victim finally escaped and hid next door.

Investigators say Truitt was found in the area. He was arrested Thursday.
