Callaway water system shut off, residents under boil water notice

CALLAWAY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Crews will be repairing a broken water main in Callaway until at least 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Callaway water system will be shut off until that time.

Residents in the following locations will then be under a precautionary boil water notice: 301 - 521 S. Star Ave., Linda Ln., Melody Ln., Sara Ln., Pocahontas St., Emerald Coast Dr., Old Bicycle Rd., Colonial Dr., Plantation Dr., Plantation Way, Diamonte Cir., Tracy Dr., Coleridge Rd., Deerfield Ln., Plantation Cir., Plantation Ct., and Cottonwood Ct.

Utilities officials advise all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes should be boiled for one minute.

The boil water notice will remain in effect until the city can conduct a bacteriological survey showing the water is safe to drink.
