Decision to close Washington County polling precincts put on hold

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Plans to close some of Washington County's polling precincts have come to a halt after Wednesday's commission meeting.

In April, commissioners and the Supervisor of Elections discussed the idea of closing four of the county's 16 polling precincts.

Officials said the precinct closings would be for monetary reasons and could help pay for better voting equipment.

A decision was supposed to be made at Wednesday's commission meeting, but commissioners decided to table the decision until their December 13th meeting.
