Delta offering compensation following last week's flight interruptions

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - If you or someone you know was affected by the huge delays while flying Delta last week, compensation for the delays and cancellations is coming.

According to the website boardingarea.com, which covers the airline and travel industries, Delta is offering people whose flights were delayed at least 3 hours (or cancelled altogether) either 20,000 SkyMiles or a $200 voucher.

The delays and cancellations were the result of severe weather that rolled through the southeast and kept crews from getting to where they needed to be. Couple the flight delays/cancellations with already packed flights due to spring break and rebooking customers was virtually impossible.

According to boardingarea.com, "this compensation should be proactive and you should receive by May 1, 2017 if you qualify. If you want to inquire if you qualify, or feel you should receive compensation (even if not a three-hour delay), the number for Corporate Customer Care is 1-800-455-2600."
