SOUTHPORT, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Bay County Sheriff's Deputy is recovering at home after he was hit by a car in Southport early Thursday morning.
The Bay County Sheriff's Office tells NewsChannel 7, Deputy Dominc Cross has been released from the hospital and is now at home.
Florida Highway Patrol officers say around 1 a.m. Thanksgiving morning, Deputy Cross was standing at the back of his patrol car after pulling over along Highway 77. Reports say Deputy Cross activated his overhead lights when he pulled over.
Officers say 69-year-old Connie McDill of Youngstown struck Cross injuring his left leg.
McDill has been charged with failure to move over for law enforcement.
