Downtown Improvement Board starting new Saturday monthly event in March

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WWECP) - The Panama City Downtown Improvement Board voted to replace the Friday night "Heard it on Harrison" event with an all day Saturday event including more entertainment and family oriented events.

The event will be branded as the "Historic Downtown Block Party" which will take place on the third Saturday of each month starting with the March St. Patrick's Day celebration.

Events will take place all along the length of Harrison Avenue from 4th Street to Oak Avenue. The activities start at 11 a.m. and will be focused on family and children's events and will transition to more traditional music and food oriented activities in the evening.

The monthly events will continue until the last week of November.
