Energy drink leads to hepatitis diagnosis for Florida man

NBC- Doctors in Florida say they treated a patient who developed liver failure from consuming too many of these popular beverages.

The 50-year old man began to develop abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and dark urine, after having four or five energy drinks every day for three weeks.

A biopsy of his liver showed severe hepatitis from the excessive consumption of niacin.

The patient was monitored closely and discontinued the use of all energy drinks.
