WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - According to Florida Highway Patrol, two people are dead and seven are injured after a crash on State Road 79 and James Potter Road in Washington County Saturday afternoon.
Troopers said a Chevrolet Impala with four people in it was stopped on James Potter Road at the intersection with S.R. 79.
They said a Kia Sorento with five people inside was driving southbound on S.R. 79.
Officials said the Impala continued into the intersection and into the path of the Sorento.
The Sorento reportedly collided with the right side of the Impala.
The driver and one passenger in the Impala, identified as Flora Douglas, 63, and Alma Douglas 51, both of Ebro, were killed.
A 77-year-old woman in the car is said to have serious injuries. A four-year-old in the car has reported minor injuries.
The drivers and passengers in the Sorento, all from Carrollton, Georgia, reportedly sustained minor injuries.
