MILLVILLE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A collective effort helped spread holiday cheer in families in need Tuesday.
Thanks to the teamwork of Early Education and Care Inc., Salvage Santa, and Toys for Tots, low-income families got extra help ahead of Christmas.
Early Education and Care Inc. is a non-profit providing Head Start services for families in Bay County.
Doors at Daffin Park's clubhouse in Millville opened at 7 a.m. Tuesday for families to find presents for their children.
Gifts included bikes, books, dolls, and sports equipment.
"Head Start's awesome. My son went there last year. He had a lot of people work with him, get him ready for Kindergarten. My daughter, the lady comes out to the house and does a lot of activities with her,"said Lakin Leavins, whose children benefit from Early Education and Care Inc. services.
The toy distribution was for families who are registered with Early Education and Care Inc.
Mike Jones, who is Salvage Santa, believes around 700 kids were helped through the distribution center in Millville.
