Florida Highway Patrol: Two people dead after Gulf County collision

GULF COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - According to Florida Highway Patrol, two people are dead after a collision in Gulf County Saturday morning.

Officials said at approximately 6:05 a.m., a 1996 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck driven by Jonathan Foster, 17, of Wewahitchka, collided with a 1992 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck pulling a trailer driven by Joseph Rich, 32, of Wewahitchka.

They said Foster was headed eastbound on State Road 22 and Rich was headed westbound on State Road 22. The incident reportedly happened just east of Longleaf Road.

We're told paramedics pronounced both drivers deceased on scene. State Road 22 was closed for approximately four hours as responders conducted their initial investigation.
