Gulf Power awarded for mutual aid work after Hurricane Irma

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Wednesday, Gulf Power was recognized for their exception efforts after Hurricane Irma this past September.

After the storm knocked out power to nearly 5 million residents between Florida and Georgia, Gulf Power sent a teams of employees to assist Georgia and Tampa Power companies.

Now, the Edison Electric Institute has awarded local power company the "Emergency Assistance Award" for their mutual aid work.
