PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - One local school gave students the chance to grab a christmas gift for their young family members.
Haney Technical Center in Panama City provided free stuffed animals and books so they could share them with a child.
Many of the students say they will wrap them up for their sons and daughters or brothers and sisters.
This is the second year Haney has hosted the "Gift of Reading."
"It means a lot because being in school, funds are not that easy to come by so this helps," Student Sandra Lang said.
They're always looking for something to do so I'm sure they'll be happy with them and read them 10,000 times over and over again," Student Zechariah Townsend said as he was thinking about his niece and nephew.
Haney bought more than 350 books to encourage the importance of reading even during the holidays.
