Panama City Beach, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - As of the Friday 10pm advisory the National Hurricane Center issued a Hurricane Watch for part of our area. The watch is from Indian Pass and around the Big Bend to Anclote River.
A hurricane watch means that hurricane conditions are POSSIBLE with in the watch area. A watch is typically issued 48hrs before the anticipated occurrence of tropical storm force (39-73mph) winds.
No other watches or warnings are in effect for Northwest Florida although a tropical storm watch or warning may be expanded westward toward Panama City on Saturday depending on the exact track of Irma.
