Jackson County commissioner holds town hall

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Some people in Jackson County voiced their concerns to their county leaders Thursday night.

Jackson County Board of Commissioners Chairman Eric Hill held a town hall meeting at the Captain's Table Restaurant in Sneads. About 20 people showed up for the meeting.

They talked about different topics, including the diesel tax, Lake Seminole, and Jackson County Fire Rescue's equipment.

"I think the Board of County Commission made a great decision to allow more than one commissioner to come, and we advertised it properly," Hill said. "It made it where we can get the public more involved under the Sunshine Law and appropriately it gets us out where we need to be. As a group, we hear from them. We get feedback, positive and negative, and that affects us when we're sitting at that table."

The next commission meeting is Tuesday, September 12 at 6:00 p.m.
