PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - After spending a few months under the care of Gulf World Marine Institute, one sea turtle was freed into the Gulf Monday morning.

Staff released Lazzie, a Green sea turtle, into the water on the west end of Panama City Beach across from the Carousel Supermarket.

In mid-September, Panama City Beach and Surf Patrol officers found her loosely attached to a pier piling tangled up in debris.

Lazzie was treated with antibiotics for pneumonia, and was medically cleared for her release after swimming and diving normally.
