Municipal Super Tuesday election results

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Tuesday, April 17, 2018, was the municipal elections for Bay County.

In Callaway, Scott Davis beat incumbent Melba Covey for the Callaway Commissioner Ward 1 seat. David T. Griggs beat incumbent Wayne McLeod for the Callway Commissioner Ward 2 Seat.

Callaway residents were also asked to approve or reject changes to the City Charter. Residents decided to approve the changes.

In Panama City Beach, in a close race, Geoff McConnell beat Skip Stoltz and Burnie Thompson for the Panama City Beach Council Member Ward 3 seat. That seat is being vacated by Josie Strange.

Panama City Beach locals were also asked to vote on three questions. Question One reads, "Authorizing the City to use competitive bids obtained within five years by other governmental agencies." Locals rejected the question.

Question Two reads, "Authorizing the City Council to exchange or swap beach access easements in certain circumstances." Locals rejected the question.

Question Three reads, "Clarifying City's duty to competitively bid purchases exceeding $10,000 per annum." Locals rejected the question.

In Springfield, Jackie Kennington beat Beth McLean for the Springfield Commissioner Ward 3 seat.
