SOUTHPORT, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A mysterious car fire in Southport Sunday morning has officials scratching their heads.
According to the Bay County Sheriff's Office, they responded to the fire just before 11 a.m. at Highway 77 and County Road 2321.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, but questions linger about what the car was doing there and who the owner is.
Deputies looked up the car's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), but it turned up as "not found."
Officials said they do not know what started the fire, but that it was probably electrical.
