New Years Weekend Forecast

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG) - Good Friday morning! We are seeing something we haven't seen in quite some time, sunshine! Our skies will continue to clear up and see even more sunshine as an area of high pressure builds into the Southeast. This clear trend will continue overnight tonight, with lows in the upper 30's inland, 40's along the coast.

Saturday will be the sunniest and warmest day with highs in the low to mid 60's.

As we head into Sunday, a cold front will move in, bringing a chance of a few showers. Earlier this morning, models were showing a slower front that would move in around midnight. But current models are hinting it may pass through before the ball drops.

Our first week of the new year will be absolutely frigid as a series of fronts will pass over our area. Lows will be below freezing almost everyday, including at the coastline! Highs will struggle to reach the mid to upper 40's!

Have a happy and SAFE New Year!
