Our travels through the Canadian Rockies with 36 other locals!

Thanks to WJHG Newschannel 7 and Holiday Vacations, My wife Lisa and I had the honor of traveling with 36 others from our area to the Canadian Rockies at the end of July and into the first week of August. And what a trip it was!

We began in Seattle, went to the Space Needle and looked out at the city from 500 feet up.

And we then went north, via a ferry from Port Angeles, Washington, to Victoria British Columbia, and among other things, saw it's Parliament building, all lit up at night.

Then it was to the Capilano Suspension Bridge which bounces over a 250 foot gorge, and connecting to the coolest treehouse anywhere!

From there we went on the train to Jasper, Alberta gliding through the Rockies, and saw more incredible scenery.

A couple of nights in Jasper while exlploring that area, saw the falls and took a gondola to the peak at Whistler Mountain above Jasper.

And then to spectacular Lake Louise and to the Athabasca Glacier, in Banff National Forest, where we saw two of our group, Catherine and Mike Nutt renew their vows. Reverend Henry Hazard doing the honors there!

All them part of a terrific group of people from Panama City, Panama City Beach, Lynn Haven, Port St. Joe, Wewa, Chipley, Defuniak Springs, Miramar Beach and Dothan, among other places.

We really bonded on this trip, and intend to stay in touch, and when you travel like this in close quarters, on a coach, on planes and a train, that is not always an automatic thing! What an experience, what a trip!
