PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Bay County Tourist Development Council has introduced new skill centers to the sports complex plans in Panama City Beach.
The new facilities will allow athletes to train and improve in their sport. The plans for the skill centers are still in the works, but the original sports complex plans are on track.
"The plans are moving along. We hope to have the 95 percent of the plans received by next week, which means that we'll be able to really start to put together the final request for proposals for the construction of the sports park and really start to nail down the final price. We still hope that we will be able to open in the spring of next year," said Dan Rowe, President of TDC.
The project is being managed and supervised by engineering firm, Anchor CEI. It's planned to have 13 multipurpose field capable of hosting a wide variety of sports.
The TDC estimates the complex to be completed by the spring of 2018.
