PARKER, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Parker Police Department arrested a Parker man Thursday, charging him with false imprisonment, attempted sexual battery and felony battery.
Police say the incident occurred early Wednesday morning at the Earl Gilbert Park next to the Tyndall Bridge. Leland Crowell Arwine, 35, was arrested Thursday morning by police.
According to arrest records, Arwine forced his way into a portable toilet the victim was using and attempted to rape her. Reports say Arwine slapped the victim and caused her head to hit the wall, causing a cut on her head.
Police say Arwine has an extensive violent felony past in the State of Michigan.
The victim was treated and release from Gulf Coast Hospital. The U.S. Marshall Service assisted in the Parker Police Department in this case.
