Panama City man accused of stabbing roommate with hunting knife during argument

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Panama City man is facing aggravated battery charges after deputies said he stabbed his roommate during an argument.

According to Bay County Sheriff's Office's arrest reports, J. Richard Winters, 63, and his roommate got into an argument about Winters' drinking. His roommate called 911 saying Winters stabbed her with a large hunting knife at their home on Roche Court.

Deputies said when they got on scene, his roommate's right side was covered in blood. A witness told deputies Winters' roommate tried to get him to go to bed after a night of heavy drinking and he became angry and stabbed her in the shoulder.
