Rosemary Beach holds seventh annual Unleashed event

ROSEMARY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Some two-legged Rosemary Beach residents gathered to support our four-legged friends.

Some pooches put on their Sunday best for the seventh annual Unleashed event.

The event included "Yappy Hour," a pet parade, a kissing booth, and of course, a costume contest.

The Rosemary Beach Foundation partnered with the Alaqua Animal Refuge to put on the event.

Event coordinators hope to raise awareness and support for all animals in need of help.

Mary Chris Murry, the Communications Director of the Alaqua Animal Refuge, said, "We're so happy to be partnered with Rosemary Beach Foundation and we have a lot of great community partners and we appreciate their support as well as the community's in our efforts to rescue and rehabilitate homeless and abandoned animals."

Alaqua will take the proceeds from Sunday and use them to help expand its refuge.
